Wax atomizers allow you to dab using your vape mod. They screw on to your device through its 510 connection. Using a rig can still be fun, but dab atomizers are more practical for traveling and can be just as effective if you use them properly.
If you already own a device capable of handling a sub ohm tank, all you need to dab is a 510 wax atomizer. Learn how to use them in the guide below. Here are the best concentrate atomizers available right now.
What is a wax atomizer?
A wax atomizer is a special type of tank equipped for dabs. Most of them look like your average vape tank and also take replaceable coil heads. Some wax tanks utilize single, dual or triple coils with quartz or ceramic wicking Others may utilize coil-less ceramic heating systems. They all have a 510 pin on the bottom making them compatible with most sub ohm capable mods. Some provide a tight MTL draw while others provide a much looser direct lung draw.
How to use a wax vape tank
Using a wax tank is similar to using a wax pen. Here are some tips to make sure you get the best experience out of your wax tank.
- Make sure the wax atomizer is attached to your mod
- Remove the top portion of your wax atomizer
- Collect a small amount of wax, preferably with a dab tool
- Carefully place the dab directly on top of the heating element
- Start with the lowest recommended setting for your wax tank
- Gently pulse the fire button of your device to melt the wax in
- Don’t overpack your dab tank or it can leak or get clogged
- Hold the fire button while inhaling through the mouthpiece
- Increase the wattage if it isn’t hitting hard enough for you
Advantages of a wax atomizer
- Ideal for traveling
- Allows you to dab with your mod
- Swaps out with your regular tank
- Produces good flavor
- Convenient way to dab
- Discreet
Disadvantages of a wax atomizer
- Requires an existing mod
- Coils need to be replaced
- Regular maintenance required
Conclusion
Wax atomizers are one of the best new ways to dab. They turn your mod into a portable dab station. Even if you already own a rig, wax tanks come in handy for when you’re out and about. They're much more convenient and practical.
If you travel often, or just want a more discreet way to dab, a wax atomizer is the way to go. Just pop it on your tank, load it up and vape. No need for blow torches or hot messy nails, just relax and enjoy your concentrates the easy way.
