Already vaped bud, also known as AVB, still contains valuable cannabinoids that can be accessed in a variety of ways. One of the advantages of vaping weed vs. smoking, is the ability to re-use your bud once it’s been vaped. You can't do that with ashes!

Depending on the temperature you vape weed at, your bud can end up anywhere from a slightly green to darker brown color. Ideally you want it to be on the greener side or lighter shade of brown for these recipes. AVB typically contains less THC than fresh bud, but the vaporizer will actually prime it for making edibles through a process known as decarboxylation.

If you're using a vaporizer, stop throwing your AVB in the trash if it's not totally cashed. Get a jar and start collecting it (and use a Boveda humidity pack to keep it from going bad). These are the simplest and best ways to put it to good use.

Medicinal THC capsules

Imagine you could just take a weed pill instead of smoking it? It’s quite a stealth way to consume THC. Making your own THC capsules is relatively easy to do, and can be made with already vaped weed.

You can’t just dump raw AVB into a capsule. You will need to infuse it into some coconut oil and dose it into the capsules. Using a syringe with a thick gauge needle will do the trick. The dosage will vary depending on the ratio of oil and the potency of your AVB. Start with one and see how it affects you to determine your preferred amount.

Cannabutter for food infusion

Cannabutter is another term for cannabis-infused butter. It can be made with AVB and regular butter or coconut oil. There is actually an appliance called the Magical Butter Machine designed specifically for making weed butter. You can also use a slow cooker or a regular stove, but the machine will save you the time and effort.

This gives you the freedom to add THC to virtually any recipe that uses butter like brownies, cookies and muffins. You’re not limited to desserts, cannabutter and AVB butter can be used to add cannabis to regular foods like eggs, sandwiches and fried chicken for example. If you don’t feel like cooking, cannabutter can be spread on toast or blended in to a beverage.

MagicalButter Decarbbox

Don’t forget that you always need to use decarbed weed when making cannabutter! If you don’t have AVB, the MagicalButter Decarbox is an oven-safe sealed silicone baking dish that will prevent the loss of cannabis compounds during decarboxylation. It allows you to activate up to 2 ounces of herb and comes with a digital thermometer probe.

Treat yourself to AVB brownies

Weed brownies are one of the more popular desserts people make with cannabutter. While this is not technically a separate option from cannabutter, having a stick of butter by itself isn't exactly a tasty treat. That's why brownies are so fun! They are relatively easy to make and the taste of chocolate and nuts blend together nicely with the cannabis flavor. Since your AVB is essentially decarboxylated bud, it's just waiting for you to throw it into some brownies. This is only one of the many creations you could make with AVB and cannabutter, but there's a reason this option has withstood the test of time.

Quick and effective fire crackers

This is by far the easiest way to make edibles with the least amount of effort. All you have to do is spread some peanut butter on a few graham crackers, sprinkle some AVB on them and sandwich them together. Wrap them up in aluminum foil and bake them in the oven around 365° F for around 10-15 minutes.

You can also try using Nutella with saltine crackers or adding some coconut oil to increase the fat content, which is essential for THC metabolization. Be aware that you can always eat more, but you can’t eat less. In other words, the experience can be very intense depending on your tolerance, so start slow and wait at least a half hour before you assess how you feel. It’s not recommended to eat more until you are familiar with the effects of your initial dose.

Focus and make concentrates

AVB can be used to make concentrates, but keep in mind you will need more than usual due to the lower cannabinoid potency. The best ways to extract the rest of your THC is using a rosin press or using a solvent like alcohol. Of course, don't expect the types of yields you would get with hash or fresh flower. Once you have extracted the remaining cannabinoids, you can dab your concentrates with a wax pen or vaporizer equipped for vaporizing wax and oils.

Smoke as a last resort

This is more of a last resort than a recommendation, you can smoke AVB. It won't taste good! But it’s yet another way to get a second run out of your already vaped weed. It also makes a nice alternative to tobacco for rolling spliffs, if you still smoke. The greener AVB is going to be more potent than the browner stuff but at the end of the day, it's still further evidence of the benefits of vaping weed. Your bud can live another day to get you lifted.
